Au Contraire, I think 'inscribable everywhere' weapons are coming soon enough (to Cantha and Tyria)... They're probably waiting until the new Guildwars (GW: EotN) comes out though, to keep everyone buying Nightfall (the main reasons right now only being Heros and inscribeables)

As has been said, the busyness before was likely due to free-access weekends.
Personally though I've never had a problem getting into the deep at any time for free or next to nothing so I don't really see what the problem is... Keeping these places accessible via controlling alliances actually makes getting faction worth something for Uber-Alliances/Guilds.. Why take that away and destroy a large part of the Factions mechanic??

What killed the Deep and Urgoz for me were the Cookie Cutter Builds. Oh what fun it was to try and get a party going WITHOUT a boredom trapper. You would have to wait two plus hours. Two plus hours filled with bitching, flaming and wannabe smartasses thinking that you can't complete it without a trapper.
And everytime I went with a trapper, I came to hate them even more. The whole Party stands there staring holes into the wall, doing nothing while the Trappers do their stuff. The monsters rush in, die, woohay. Let's trap the next mob. Ironically in those instances were the trapper luckily err7'd the remaining team was three times as fast without them. But well, try getting an Urgoz Team started without a Trapper in it. :X

And what killed the Deep for me is the one most annoying environmental effect ever introduced. It atleast tells me why there is a mental in environmental. Because this single effect was utterly retarded and frustrating. Guessed its name? Yep, scorpion aspect.

Steel Walling the Deep was one of the most enjoyable playing experiences I have ever had in Guildwars. If you ran it ad nauseum just to wrack up loot/money then you can have my pity, you missed out on the finer details and challenge of the area. I don't think I've ever felt the same feeling of accomplishment after defeating Kanaxai/Urgoz in any other part of this game even after running cart/prot and doing all quests etc. I won't even try to argue the fact that the new shiny things pull away interest from older parts of the game. DoA is nothing but a slugfest for money/loot, the only cool thing was the beast of arrggh...please anet do something about the elitist ts/vent crowd...no other elite zone REQUIRES their use...its absolutely absurd!

I for sure didn't know you can enter there with scrolls now!

But to buy 1000 faction points scroll to end up to an empty district is not too attractive at all.

I vote the restricted elite areas the stupidest game planning decision in Guild Wars. Never used a taxi either, that was just... utterly lame.

I've suggested before, and do it again: transport the winning Ft. Aspenwood team to Deep or Urgoz. Or maybe have access to those places from the farthest Luxon/Kurzick cities for free... Use some imagination dev team for love of Dwayna! If people would find out these places (and get there reasonably cheap), there might be more people in there. I'm guessing some touch on these areas drop/reward-wise is out of the question?

Still, having the scrolls is a step to the right decision. I'm pretty close at saying: nicely done!

I have to agree that most people still don't realize they are open. I was in House Zu Heltzer last night and an alliance member was spamming non-stop "ferrying to Warren 500g". I also saw several others spamming "ferry needed!!!" non-stop. (Don't ask me why they didn't hook up with the first guy. I have no clue. Too expensive maybe?")

Anyways, I typed several times, "no ferry needed. missions are open. Talk to Kurzick Bureaucrat!!" and got several replies that I didn't know what I was talking about. One guy said "I'm going to warren, dumbazz. You need a ferry to get there". I told him again that you didn't, and was called a stupid noob. I just laughed and left. In hindsight, I should have charged him a fee, ferried him and left.

I'm gonna go with the "People don't know" theory. 1k faction is fine for access; people were suggesting that a long while ago. Plus, what are the prices of amber and jade nowadays, 500g each? If you're trying to get the most value for your faction, 1k spent to get into an elite mission with its drops and such seems much more valuable than one piece of amber or jade.

Plus, you only need one person in your guild/alliance to get there, and then they can ferry everyone else in from the guild hall, unless they closed that trick.

I always thought the two people SHOULD be in the divine path with everyone else at the end of Factions. That way if people wanted to go to the staging area they could really easily, but not be a complete giveaway. This would not effect taxis or alliance rights, but would make it so there is more people in the staging area on occasion.

In any case I personally didn't like the factions elites very much. Except for the 12 party formation. which was the best thing about it.

This was obnoxiously missing in the DoA Elite area. as such made the area even more difficult to COMPLETE. Not farm, but complete. And like DoA with all the room effects it was just annoying to be in. Not impossible to finish just annoying to have area effects that hit you but never your enemy.

I figure eventually they will add scrolls like the fissure and UW scrolls for urgos and the deep. that will allow more people in there as well. But that is prob a few weeks away before they realize that simple solution. We will see...
